Is there anything as indulgent as room service? There’s something so luxurious about ordering just the thing you’re craving—whether it’s a classic club sandwich or a drool-worthy dessert—and having it delivered right to your room, without you ever having to change out of your pajamas (or do the dishes).

Beyond the typical breakfast, lunch and late-night menus, upscale hotels across the globe are upping the ante when it comes to room service, rolling out the red carpet for guests with over-the-top offerings (both food-related and not) that will make anyone feel like a VIP. (By the way, if you’re looking for a way to personalize the experience for an intimate meeting or incentive program, surprising your attendees with a beautiful room service spread is an excellent way to do it!)

Take a look at some of our favorite ideas.

At Thompson Nashville, which has 6,000 square feet of total event space, room service isn’t just a deliver-and-done affair. Instead, it’s an experience: A Nashville songwriter can come to your room to give you a private acoustic lesson while a butler is there to facilitate. The package also comes with appetizers and cocktails customized to your preferences.

Get a taste of your Southern California locale without leaving your guest room at Ojai Valley Inn northwest of Los Angeles, which has a 20,000-square-foot Farmhouse for events. When you order the South of the Border room service kit, you’ll get guacamole, salsa and a pair of signature tangerine margaritas for two (add a bottle of sparkling rose bottled just for the resort as an add-on). If you have kids in tow, the in-room cookie decorating station is sweet fun.

Dine on caviar, foie gras and the famous king crab tiramisu from the in-house Michelin-starred restaurant from your plush bed at Lebua Hotels & Resort in Bangkok, which was named the best hotel in Thailand by Travel + Leisure for 2020.

Come to One&Only Cape Town for the views of Table Mountain, stay for the hotel’s balconies that make for a perfect perch to enjoy an authentic “braai” meal of grilled meats (essentially South Africa’s version of barbecue) served right from your patio. The resort has a ballroom and several beautiful board rooms for meetings, too.

Give your AirPods a rest and instead plug into the “Moxy Hookup” at the new Moxy East Village in New York, which provides a jammin’ in-room music experience (and about 13,000 square feet of event space) thanks to a partnership with Academy Records. Get a retro-style turntable and vinyl records brought to your room and specify your music preferences for a curated selection.

You won’t be caught having nothing to wear—even if the airline loses your luggage—while staying at ESPACIO, The Jewel of Waikiki in Honolulu, Hawaii. This new Japanese-inspired boutique hotel can create a custom-curated wardrobe from Neiman Marcus that will be hanging neatly in your suite upon arrival (and shipped to your home post-stay)—and will also stock your room’s designer kitchen with all your favorite snacks.

Il Salviatino Affresco Suite

Forget breakfast in bed—the Champagne bubble back is what room service dreams are made of at Il Salviatino, a restored 15th-century villa just outside of Florence, Italy. One of the hotel’s service ambassadors will fill your private antique bath to the brim with your favorite bubbles: Choose from Prosecco, Spumante or French Champagne. (An additional bottle is yours to sip.)
